  • Study a Language of the Middle East!

    Are you interested in the cultures of the Middle East? Are you looking for a new linguistic challenge?

    A Self-Directed Language Acquisition Program started in Spring 2009. Choose to learn Farsi/Persian, modern Hebrew, or Turkish with the help of a language partner and both print and electronic resources. Develop skills that will help you whenever you encounter a new language.

LAIS Student Research Symposium

The Latin American and Iberian Studies Student Research Symposium begins Wednesday, April 15, with a lecture by Professor David Gies of the University of Virginia. He will speak about Genderama: Performing Womanhood in Nineteenth-Century Spanish Theater. A reception follows the 6:00 p.m. lecture.

 

Student presentations take place April 16 from 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Complete information is available from the Latin American and Iberian Studies Department.
